What is Batik?

Batik is a process of decorating fabric by placing some of the cloth in beeswax or paraffin wax. Next the fabric is dyed. The waxed portions of the fabric holds on to the original shade of the fabric. After the wax is removed the difference in color between the undyed and dyed part of the fabric reveals itself as a pattern.

What can you use Batik fabric for?

Use Batik fabrics as unique wall hangings, curtains, table cloths, scarves, or clothes. Add a beautiful Batik fabric to a custom frame and place as the focal point of a room. Create a custom bedspread, pillow cases, or make decorative pillows.
